What.the.heck 2 YEARS ago is when I got my first Holland?! It feels like yesterday! Thanks to that first *pet* quality Holland that made me love them, and to some good mentors/friends, I'm where I am today.. So many amazing things have happened since I've started Hollands, and this last year has been a year of so much growth - thanks to many people that have guided me and helped me! Honestly though, wish I was starting the 3rd year off better, but we'll get back on track soon. This next year, I'll be working on producing quality Hollands in tort and color. My Hollands have already came very far. Can we take a moment to show how far my chocolates have came along? My first chocolate buck vs my most recent chocolate tort junior: The difference is amazing. The broken chocolate wouldn't sit up and uh..HQ anyone? Anyways. These past 2 years of Hollands have been a rollercoaster, and I believe it'll always be like that. It started out wild and crazy, I didn't know what I was getting into and I was excited yet confused..then it got slow and sad when I lost one of my favorite does..then it was good and sometimes it was rough, sometimes it was great. Life with rabbits is a rollercoaster apparently. And just when you think things are going smooth and great - some rabbit has just GOT to throw you a curve. These past few months haven't been the easiest..But you gotta push forward and keep going, which is exactly what I'm doing because Hollands, rabbits, are my passion. Just because I downsize doesn't mean I'm done, it just means I'm making room for more rabbits, nicer rabbits! ;) Within these 2 years, I've made amazing friends, met amazing people, owned amazing rabbits and had an amazing time. In the last year of Hollands I lost several special rabbits, I've been pushed over my limits and felt like the whole world was against me. But you gotta keep going if you really love it. And I do. Now, just a few pictures from this last year :P I honestly didn't know what to say in this post, but I wanted to make it.
It's kinda random but whatever. It's not the best thing I've wrote, I'm not impressed with myself but I hope you enjoyed it anyways :) Here's to pushing forward and improving my herd in year 3! |
